Micki Chaet

Micki's path as an artist began early with her visions of great beauty. She began her journey by attending Chicago Academy of Fine arts, learning graphic design and fashion illustration.

After extensive overseas travel which inspired her fine jewelry designs, she got her degree from University of Southern Illinois in Fine Arts. She moved to the West Coast and worked as a fine jeweler from 1986 to 2002, apprenticing with several nationally known jewelers.

Unique designs, decorative gold work and heirloom quality have always set Micki's jewelry apart from others. Celebrities George Lucas and Amy Tan have purchased her work along with many other private collectors.

One of Micki's favorite and reoccurring motifs is the heart. For her the heart has been an ancient symbol for love, faith, courage and belief. Over and over you will usually find a little heart tucked somewhere in her jewelry, whether on earrings, rings or necklaces.

As an avid hiker, Micki has gladly traded her West Coast life for the softer, gentler pace of life here in the mountains. She says simply that it makes her heart content.
