Cecilia Tappan Minnehan

Cecilia , born in Lima Peru, began her jewelry career at the age of 14 when she apprenticed under the renowned silversmith, Juan Yucra. While attending the State University of New York at New Paltz, she spent her junior year studying with a blacksmith at the University of Urbino in Italy. She received a B.S. degree in Art Education in 1979.

After college, Cecilia moved to Boston and started designing a small line of handcrafted jewelry sold only at the stores of the Kiracofe brothers. In 1983, she apprenticed under Scandinavian silversmith Uni David-Anderson in Norway. When she returned she worked as a bench jewelry for a production jewelry house and then launched her own line in 1985.

After a short stint in NYC, Cecilia moved to Martha's Vineyard. Her designs are a fusion of Inca styles with the clean, slick lines of Scandinavia and the geometries of Art Deco. Her work is exhibited in over 250 galleries, boutiques and museum stores nationwide.

Her cuff links are the favorite of the Gallery's male customers!

During a recent visit for the holidays my wife bought me a pair of Cecilia's stunning cuff-links. Can't wait to go to work and show them off. Thanks Cecilia for your stunning designs.
