Fall and Winter Watercolors
The Gallery has received several new original watercolors by local artist Mista Whitson. Her fall scenes depict the vivid colors of the mountains around us and her winter paintings show a softer palette of the snow capped mountains.

We are Locally Hand Made and American Made
In business for 28 years, the Gallery has been representing and selling local artists since the beginning, way ahead of the "buy local, buy American" trend happening now. In addition to our artists, all of our gift bags, boxes and supplies are made in USA.
If you want high quality local and American made crafts, the Gallery of the Mountains is your place to shop!
Representing 200 artists, the Gallery presents an exclusive collection that complements the warm traditional elegance of The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa, one of the nation's premier historic hotels.
The Gallery is also perfectly situated in Asheville, North Carolina, one of the top-ten craft-buying destinations in the country. Some comments from our visitors tell it all: "A great collection." "Simply beautiful." "The best."
The Gallery has been consistently honored as a Niche Top 100 Retailer of American Craft. Each year, more than 1,500 galleries are nominated, with more than 18,000 craft artists voting on the final selection. Some of the criteria for selection include treating artists with courtesy and respect, promoting and marketing American crafts, and mentoring emerging artists.

Wood
Maple, cherry, walnut, oak-what compares to the enduring luster and beauty of wood skillfully carved or worked? From a simple block of wood, it takes the carver's art and vision to release a soaring eagle or delicate birds that look as if they might take flight. Boxes, crafted to hold treasures, are, of themselves, works of art. Unique vases that capture the natural beauty of a burl, delicately carved woodland creatures or walking sticks carved in the finest Appalachian tradition bring one of nature's most abundant materials to life.
