The Gallery has added the nature inspired pieces of a new local jeweler to their collection. Faryn Davis grew up collecting leaves, tadpoles, bugs, feathers and all sorts of natural ephemera from her beloved Appalachian Mountains. Fayrn pursued art from an early age, studying at North Carolina School of the Arts. Later she studied in France, Italy and Nepal, receiving a BFA degree in sculpture from University of North Carolina Asheville in 2000.

Faryn's line of hand poured resin jewelry reflects her enduring love of all things natural. Her handmade jewelry is inspired by the beauty and mystery of the natural world. Alternating between thick poured layers of resin and misty individually hand painted scenes, Faryn creates dream like settings in her necklaces and earrings. Evocative of days past, she dips into her rural childhood to create images of tents on clear nights, kit flying, swings in trees and many more nostalgic images. Sometimes Faryn's jewelry contains embedded objects such as real grass, ferns and genuine turquoise beads as robin's eggs.
